Frequently Asked Questions
Question: My Facebook page contains advertising from Avail. Can you remove it?
Avail is an advertiser on behalf of our clients. Occasionally, we may advertise on Facebook. However, we are not responsible for if and where the ad is placed by Facebook. Even if you choose to opt out of our personalized advertising, other advertisers can still serve banners in the same spot.
Question: Even after opting out, I’m still receiving personalized ads
There are several companies that develop personalized advertising solutions. Thus, opting out of Avail’s personalized advertising does not prevent other companies serving personalized advertisements. If you wish to opt out of these advertisements as well, follow the instructions that accompany the ad – normally marked by an “info” icon.

What is Personalized Advertising?
The purpose of personalized advertising, or retargeting as it is also often referred to, is to increase the relevancy of advertising to consumers, by better understanding what they are interested in. Instead of broadcasting the same advertisement to every visitor to an online site, Avail enables online retailers to tailor the content of each ad to the person viewing the ad. We believe this creates more relevant and valuable advertisements for consumers, and thus, a better online experience when visiting advertising-supported websites.
Who are Avail?
Avail is a company specializing in developing solutions (technology and associated services) that help online retailers create more relevant merchandising and advertising. We help our customers - i.e. online retailers - make better use of what they know about their customers - i.e. consumers - by understanding the interests they have expressed while visiting their online store, and tailoring promotions to match. Our software constructs and serves personalized advertisements on behalf of our customers.

The Avail software relies on an HTTP cookie to gather behavioral data, i.e. page clicks and purchases made while visiting the online store belonging to one of our customers. This data is anonymous and can not be used to identify you, i.e. we don't know or store your name, where you live, your credit card number, your social security number or anything else that could be used to identify you.
Opting Out / Opting In
If you no longer wish to see personalized banners, please click "opt-out" below. If you have already opted out, and wish to receive personalized advertising again, please click "opt-in".
Please note that:
- This will not mean that you wont see any banners at all, it means that we won't use your behavior data to create the banner.
- In order for us to know that you opted-out, we need to set a cookie called "optout". If you delete this cookie, we won't no longer be able to know that you opted-out and you will need the do this procedure all over again.
- Due to the current technology, we are also unable to see that you opted-out cross different browsers, this means that you need to do this procedure for every computer and browser that you use.
